Ballyhale

Our school is located on the Waterford side of Ballyhale Co Kilkenny. There are 182 pupils in the school. Knocktopher and Knockmoylan are two of the parishes that make up Ballyhale. The school itself, Scoil Phádraig, is located in the countryside of Kilkenny. Ballyhale is on the Waterford road. There are some famous hurlers in Ballyhale that are on the Kilkenny hurling team and panel at the moment.
 
There is a stream that flows through Ballyhale into the River Arrigle. There is a secondary school in Knocktopher called Scoil Aireagail. There is one church in Ballyhale, one church in Knockmoylan and two churches in Knocktopher.

The President came to Ballyhale on Friday the 11th of April 2008.She opened Cúl na Greine. All of the classes went down to see her open the house. We sang 2 songs for her called The star of the County Down and Brat Glas. A women from KCLR(the radio station). She recorded us singing The Star of the County Down. She also talked to some of the pupils. We gave the President a bouquet of flowers. There were refreshments for the people that went to see her. Some of the pupils from Scoil Aireagal helped bring the cups of tea io the houses. There were lots of speeches and there were lots Garda outriders following her car. Pupils from 5th and 6th class brought pupils from Junior and Senior Infants down to meet the President so they would be safe walking down and Garda Nolan Helped us walk down also. It was a very cold day. Henry Shefflin Presented a present to Mary McAleese. We all had a fantastic day meeting the President. When we arrived back at school we all received a chocolate bar and a drink. It was a wonderful day and a great experience.
